The Pocahontas Street Department is announcing the closure of Drew Street, between Carroll Street and Valley Drive, on June 6 through June 14. The closure is due to the bridge at the west end of Drew Street being replaced and widened. Alternate routes will be required.
The Warm Springs Cemetery will hold its annual cleaning on Saturday, June 4, starting at 8:30 a.m. In case of rain, the cleaning will be the following Saturday, June 11. Please bring your own tools. William “Bill” Ray Johnston passed away May 28, 2022. He was born November 29, 1936, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Ray Dennison Johnston and Willie Jasper Bloomer Johnston.
The Randolph County Health Unit has found its new home at 407 Camp Road in Pocahontas. After decades of serving the community from their location on Pace Road, the employees say the new building far exceeds anything they expected.
Some Gave All…Gold Star Wife, Barbara Grimsby, is seen here in attendance of the annual Memorial Day program at Randolph Memorial Gardens. Grimsby became a Gold Star Wife in 1995 when her husband, Michael James Grimsby, passed away from injuries he sustained during the Vietnam War.
