Congratulations to the Maynard 4-H Seaperch Team “ Seabunnies” placed in the State 4-H Seaperch Challenge held in Bryant, Arkansas. The team placed 1st Real-World competition and 2nd the presentation/interview.

Congratulations the Randolph Co. 4-H Horse Judging team and their coach Joe Washburn! The Randolph County 4-H Horse Judging team placed 2nd at the State Horse Judging Competition in Fayetteville, earning them a spot at the national competition.

This past weekend Maynard High School sent two teams to the Arkansas Youth BASS Nation State Championship[ held on Greer’s Ferry lake. Tuff Clark and Uriah Denny fought hard to advance but came up short on the second day. While Seniors, Nick Edington, and Jarred Jones had a great first day they continued to have success on the second day and were able to finish sixth overall with a total two-day weight of 18.16 pounds. For the third year in a row, the Maynard Bass Team will be sending a team to the Bassmaster’s National Tournament at Lake Hartwell in Anderson South Carolina later this summer.

Very handily located at the intersection of Park Street at the Imboden Highway, the store is famous for friendly, efficient service. They carried a complete line of stable groceries, fresh meats, dairy and bakery products, and those famous Phillips 66 oil and gasoline products were the very best you could buy for your car.

The Eddie Mae Herron Center wants to thank the Pocahontas and Randolph County communities for the wonderful evening we had with friends and neighbors at our recent Pie Auction and Candidate Forum held on Thursday, April 21. This is a traditional event for the Center which we host every election season, and it has always been one of our most important fundraisers. For the past year, our goal has been to raise enough money to repair and upgrade our parking lots, and to install outdoor safety lighting.
