Mayor Sago Releases New Rule Mayor G. A.
The COVID-19 virus has continued to affect lives in ways that might have seemed unimaginable back in March 2020 when the World Health Organization initially declared a global pandemic. Since then, individuals and families, in addition to confronting health-related concerns, have reluctantly grown accustomed to office closures, travel delays and other frustrating consequences of the pandemic. Though there’s no telling when the pandemic may end, communities may have to confront lingering consequences for years to come.

Arkansas Women in Agriculture (AWIA) has named Shae Parsons and DeAnna Walker as 2022 scholarship recipients. Each received $500 for educational tuition expenses.

The 15th Annual BRTC Foundation Spring Fling Gala was held on March 12, 2022. Over $38,000 was raised for scholarships and academic programs.
The Randolph County Library will be celebrating ‘Take Your Child to the Library Day’ on Saturday, March 26th. The library will be open 9:00-3:00 and will be having children’s activities throughout the day.

The whole nation is aware of the infamous civil rights standoff at Little Rock Central High School in 1957. Many in Randolph County are also becoming increasingly aware of the school desegregation strug- gle that took place right here in our own backyard, in 1955 in Hoxie over in Lawrence County.
