Senior Redskins Beat Hillcrest Screamin’ Eagles in First Baseball Game 15-5

In a Friday night game played at Pocahontas School Baseball Field the Senior Boys Redskins beat the Hillcrest Screamin’ Eagles from Strawberry 15-5. Hillcrest scored four runs in the first inning but the Redskins kept adding runs until the game was called at the end of the sixth inning because of the ten-run rule and won 15-5.

Dolphin Swim Team holding Spring Tryouts

The spring session for the Dolphins Swim Team is shorter this year. It is from now until May 3rd. Tryouts are every night this week from 6:30-7:15pm at the Pocahontas Aquatic Center on Geneva Drive. Please bring a swimsuit and a towel to tryout. For questions about the swim team please text Coach Anna at 870-809-1423. Swim lessons will begin at the end of March. Pocahontas Junior High School Quiz Bowl Team Is the 4A AGQBA State Runner-up

On Saturday, March 5, the PJHS Quiz Bowl team traveled to Arkadelphia to compete in the 4A junior high state tournament of the Arkansas Governor's Quiz Bowl Association. The team finished in second place. Two team members, Eli Risley and Wyatt Converse, were named state all-tournament players. Risley was also named tournament MVP. The team is coached by Michelle Kercheval.
