From the Humane Society

In the Midwest recently, two boys riding fourwheelers found a cat that had sustained three bullet wounds, and because of the extreme winter weather, was nearly frozen to the ground. It is recovering in a nearby veterinary clinic.

Honoring Black History Month

Anyone who has been to the Eddie Mae Herron Center has surely seen the grave marker of C.C. Scott which is housed at the Center. He was an early African-American settler, farmer, employer, and entrepreneur in Randolph County. The grave marker was brought to EMHC after a family in Biggers found it discarded in a ditch many years ago. We have kept it safe and displayed it all this time at the Eddie Mae Herron Center.

What a beautiful afternoon, the sun is shining and the temperature is not too bad. I was thinking about what recipes I wanted to share with you and decided on a “company” breakfast. The family of Charlice Crismon Hufstedler wishes to express our gratitude to Randolph County Nursing Home for the acts of kindness and care given to her, not only in the last hours of her life, but also in the past years she had resided there. Administration, and Caregivers on the second wing could not have been more compassionate and caring to our sweet Charlcie and to our family. It was a blessing to know she and Jennifer were being cared for by them.
